A.A. members use the basic text of the book titled “Alcoholics Anonymous” published in 1939 (affectionately dubbed the “Big Book”), which outlines the Program of recovery from alcoholism.
Experienced members volunteer to help others who still suffer from alcoholism in order to help them recover.
“Sobriety - Freedom from Alcohol; through the teaching and practice of the Twelve Steps is the sole purpose of an A.A. group.” - Bill W.
